TBG to Participate in 2020 Rwenzori Investment Expo

The 2020 Rwenzori Investment Expo will be held in Fort Portal at Mountains of the Moon University Saaka Campus where H.E the President of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni will be the chief guest as investors and policymakers converge in Fort Portal for a two-day event to discuss how the investment sector can contribute to Uganda’s journey in achieving Vision 2040 goals.

The Rwenzori Investment Expo organizers (OWC) under the Office of the President in Partnership with Uganda Investment Authority (UIA), and Mountains of the Moon University (MoMU) in a statement also confirmed that President Museveni will deliver a keynote address at the two-day Rwenzori Investment Expo 2020 on 30th to 31st of January.

The Rwenzori Investment Expo (RIEX) is the third symposia series under the theme “Investment for Local Economic Development” organized by Operation Wealth Creation. The first was Uganda-China investment symposia and the West Nile symposium was the second in the series. It is organized by Operation Wealth Creation (OWC), Office of the President, in partnership with the Uganda Investment Authority (UIA).  The event whose objectives are said to be in line with the government’s overall development agenda and the Vision 2040 among other things is expected to result in jobs and poverty reduction in the region.

The expo will according to organizers provide a platform for engaging with local government’s investment community to enhance value addition, create more jobs and incomes for households as well as strengthening private sector performance in the region, the OWC said in a statement.

Officials say previous meet-ups have enabled successful inter-linkages between the Public, and Private sector, local government, development partners and the community, creating strong synergies for improved service delivery.

The Rwenzori region is endowed with diversified natural resources (fertile land, minerals, forestry, wildlife, and energy) and it connects the Pearl of Africa to Rwanda, DRC and Burundi.
